Aluminum engine oil pan

The oil pan is the lower reservoir of the engine that collects engine oil, from which it is drawn by the oil pump to lubricate components. This pan is made of aluminum, which provides good mechanical strength at a relatively low weight and corrosion resistance compared with steel versions.

Use

The part is a replacement for the original Honda/Acura oil pan with catalog number 11200-P72-010 and fits the 1.8 l4 gasoline engine installed in the Acura Integra from 1994-2001, in both the Hatchback and Sedan versions with a 5-speed manual transmission. The manufacturer notes that before buying you should verify the vehicle's year of manufacture and engine variant, because the Integra of this generation was offered with several powertrains.

When to replace the oil pan

The oil pan is most often replaced when it is cracked or deeply corroded as a result of an impact (for example from a rock or curb) or long-term contact with road salt, which leads to engine oil leaking. A damaged oil pan makes it impossible to maintain the correct oil level, which in a short time risks serious engine failure due to inadequate lubrication.
