Aramox - engine oil level dipstick

A dipstick, that is a rod-type engine oil level indicator, is a component that lets you quickly and conveniently check the amount of oil in the engine without connecting diagnostics. Inserted into a guide tube set in the engine block, once removed it shows the current oil level on the scale at its tip.

Use

The dipstick is a replacement for the original BMW part with catalog number 11437600470 and fits BMW 1 Series (F20, F21) and 3 Series (F30, F31) models from 2011-2019. It is made of stainless steel with an anti-corrosion coating, which provides resistance to hot oil and the moisture present in the engine bay throughout its service life.

Why replace the dipstick

A lost, corroded or deformed dipstick makes it hard to check the oil level reliably, which can lead to overlooking a too-low level and, as a result, to accelerated wear or engine damage. Replacing the dipstick with a new one made of stainless steel restores the ability to visually check the oil quickly - one of the basic periodic maintenance tasks for a car.

Installation

Before buying, it is worth comparing the look and length of the dipstick with the product photos and with the original part in the vehicle, because different engine variants of the same generation may have slightly different dimensions.
