Elring 923.089 – timing case gasket set

The Elring 923.089 gasket set is used to seal the engine's timing case (timing cover). The gaskets prevent oil leaks where the timing case meets the engine block and the cylinder head, so they are replaced every time the timing cover is removed, for example when replacing the timing chain or belt.

Application

The set is intended for engines fitted in the BMW 3 Series (E36) and BMW Z3 (E36) from the 1990s and early 2000s. Because engines of this family came in several displacement variants, it is worth verifying compatibility before buying using the vehicle's VIN or by comparing the catalog number with the old gasket.
