The Febi Bilstein 09489 oil pressure sensor monitors the oil pressure in the engine lubrication system and sends a signal to the dashboard gauge or the engine control unit. A detected pressure drop below a safe level triggers a warning light, informing the driver of a potential threat to the engine.

Application

The part fits Mercedes-Benz T2 commercial vehicles (models 668 and 669) and EvoBus buses. It corresponds to the original Mercedes-Benz/EvoBus part number 004 542 89 17. The sensor has an M14 x 1.5 external thread, 12 mm long, and a switching measuring range of 0 to 5 bar, with a 19 mm wrench size.

When to replace the oil pressure sensor

A faulty oil pressure sensor can give false readings - the oil pressure light comes on even though the oil level and pressure are correct, or conversely does not react to an actual pressure drop.
