Laroal – DPF differential pressure sensor, replacement for 3M5A-5L200-AB

Function

The sensor measures the difference in exhaust pressure before and after the diesel particulate filter. On this basis the engine controller assesses how full the DPF is and decides on regeneration. A faulty sensor causes errors, limp mode or too frequent regenerations.

Applications

• replacement numbers: 3M5A-5L200-AB, 3M5A5L200AB, 1415606,
• stated models: Ford C-Max, Focus, Galaxy, Kuga, Mondeo, S-Max and Volvo C30, C70, S40 and related models with diesel engines,
• two nozzles for vacuum lines and an electrical connector.

Installation

The sensor is usually located in the engine bay near the DPF filter. When replacing it, it is also worth checking the condition of the vacuum lines – a cracked hose causes similar symptoms to a faulty sensor.
