The K & N 77-9030KP high-performance air intake system is a free-flowing, flexible aluminum induction tube system designed to fit certain Toyota FJ Cruiser models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in the vehicle are replaced by the K & N air intake system, which is designed to significantly reduce airflow restriction because it smooths and improves airflow.

Improved airflow lets the engine breathe in more air than with the stock intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration across the entire rev range. The 77-9030KP air intake is equipped with a high-flow K & N air filter with a chrome cover and a heat shield that installs in the former airbox space. Air is directed through the intake tube to the engine's throttle body to guarantee a power gain.

The intake tube has an attractive chrome finish and is made to accommodate the factory mass air flow sensor, the crankcase breather hose and a replacement silicone fuel pressure regulator hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before maintenance is required, depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install, usually within 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a few screwdrivers, pliers, a ratchet set and a few wrenches.
