URO Parts 021109513 - timing chain guide

The URO Parts 021109513 timing chain guide (guide rail) is a component that sets the path of the timing chain while the engine runs. The guide is made of a material resistant to oil, high temperature and the vibration inside the timing cover, and its geometry matches the original chain spacing and orientation used by the engine manufacturer.

Applications

The part replaces the original part numbers used in Volkswagen engines (21109513) and Ford engines (1086533, 95VW6K297CA), fitted in several generations of vehicles of these makes. Because of the shared engine platforms once used by both groups, the same guide went into different models - before buying, compare the part number with your old guide or the OEM number in the vehicle documentation.

Why replace the guide

A worn or cracked timing chain guide loses its geometry, which lets the chain vibrate excessively and speeds up wear of the sprockets and the chain itself. In extreme cases a broken-off piece of the guide can end up in the oil pan or block the engine's lubrication system. The manufacturer URO Parts specializes in replacement parts for European cars sold on the North American and European markets, designing components for durability and conformity with the original.
