Gems Valley – natural tanzanite, 2–3 mm beads

Tanzanite is a rare gemstone mined in only one region of Tanzania, at the foot of Kilimanjaro. It is known for a blue-violet color that changes shade depending on the viewing angle and lighting.

Features

The strand is about 30 cm long and contains roughly 36 round, micro-faceted beads, 2–3 mm in size, in purple. The tiny facets make the stones sparkle and play with the light beautifully.

Uses

• delicate layered bracelets,
• necklaces with small stones,
• earrings and wire-wrapped rings,
• jewelry as a gift for people born in December.

Tips

Because of the small size, it is best to use thin steel cable or silk thread for stringing. Tanzanite looks great alongside silver, white gold and small pearls.
