Prophila Collection – 5 Notgeld banknotes from the German Empire

This is a set of five different historical Notgeld emergency banknotes from the period of the German Empire. Notgeld, or "emergency money", was issued locally at times of shortage of small change, and today it is a prized, colorful piece of European numismatics. The set will suit anyone who collects European banknotes and is interested in German history.

Nature of the set

The manufacturer describes all the banknotes as original, not replicas or forgeries. They are paper money that is no longer legal tender and cannot be exchanged for current currency, so they serve collecting purposes only. The specific denominations and designs in the set may vary, as these are individual specimens from a series.

Why choose it

• five different banknotes in one set,
• a great start to a collection of German banknotes,
• an interesting document of the era, illustrating local money issues,
• original paper money, not reproductions.

Specifications

Banknotes are best stored in an album or protective sleeves, away from moisture and sunlight, to preserve their colors and condition for many years.
