Protection from hot exhaust

This is a fiberglass cover that fits over the muffler in the exhaust system of small construction machines. The shield limits heating of the area around the muffler, so nearby hoses, cables, plastic parts and adjacent engine bay components are less exposed to high temperatures during operation.

Fit

This is an exhaust system component for construction machinery: a muffler cover for a Rato 420 muffler in a mini excavator.

The manufacturer intends it for mini excavators and compact loaders, including machines with a Rato 420 cm3 engine. The shield measures 7.4 x 5 x 6.88 inches, or about 18.8 x 12.7 x 17.5 cm. Before buying, measure your muffler and check the bolt spacing and free space, because muffler shapes differ between machines.

Installation and construction

The shield has reinforced seams and fits tightly around the exhaust components. It is installed without complicated tools, springs or straps.
