TKSE HT5009 – digital brake fluid tester for DOT3, DOT4 and DOT5.1

Over time, brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air, which lowers its boiling point and raises the risk of brake fade on a long descent. This brake fluid tester shows the water percentage in a few seconds, so you know right away whether the fluid is still fit to drive on.

Measurement

• moisture detection range: 0–4%,
• accuracy about ±0.3%,
• a probe on a flexible neck reaches the reservoir even in a tight engine bay,
• result on a backlit display, with the background color changing according to the fluid condition.

Convenience

The device has a flashlight at the top of the housing – you can use it to light the reservoir and judge the color of the fluid. The ABS plastic housing is oil resistant. Power comes from 2 AAA batteries, which must be bought separately. The tester works in cars and motorcycles, for glycol-based fluids.

If the measurement shows 3% water or more, the fluid should be replaced; at 2% it is worth planning a replacement.
