Miskall - set of 4 telescoping gauges for holes 3-13 mm

The Miskall telescoping gauge set is a kit of four ball-type instruments for measuring the diameter of small holes, slots and grooves. The tool is used together with a micrometer or an outside caliper, which read the spacing of the gauge's arms once it has been set in the hole being measured.

How it works

Each gauge has telescopically extending arms ending in balls, which expand after insertion into the hole and adjust to its inner diameter. Once the instrument has settled in the hole, it is taken out and the arm spacing is measured with a caliper or micrometer, giving an accurate inside diameter reading.

Range and material

The four tools in the set together cover a measuring range from 3 to 13 mm, divided into four sub-ranges corresponding to successive ball head sizes. The heads are made of manganese steel, which is resistant to abrasion and ensures a long tool life.

Use

The set is useful for checking hole dimensions in machine parts, bushings, guides and other mechanical components, where the inside diameter cannot be measured directly with a caliper because of shallow depth or difficult access.
