OZPPM - electric dehorner for calves and lambs

The OZPPM electric dehorner is an agricultural and veterinary tool intended for bloodless removal of horn buds in young calves and lambs aged 15 to 75 days. The device uses a copper heating head, which when heated effectively cauterizes the tissue responsible for horn growth.

Use in livestock farming

The dehorning procedure reduces the risk of animals injuring each other in the herd, which means lower losses in breeding and calmer behavior of cattle and sheep when kept together in a barn or on a pasture. The device is especially useful on farms raising grazing cattle.

How it works

After the device heats up for 10-15 minutes, the head is placed on the horn bud and gently rotated for a few seconds until a characteristic copper ring appears, indicating the end of the procedure. The whole procedure is quick and keeps stress on the animal to a minimum.

Construction

The body is made of stainless steel with a copper heating head of high thermal conductivity, and the handle is designed to provide a stable, safe grip during work. The device is powered from a 110-220 V mains supply.
