Garmin GHP Reactor – autopilot central control unit (CCU) for Volvo-Penta

This is the central control unit (CCU) of the Garmin GHP Reactor autopilot system, designed for integration with Volvo Penta drives. The housing contains a heading sensor (fluxgate compass) and the electronics that calculate the vessel's course changes.

Operation on an NMEA 2000 network

The unit connects to an NMEA 2000 network, so it communicates with the GHC 10 control display and other devices compatible with this standard, such as chartplotters or wind sensors. This lets the autopilot use data from the entire onboard electronics installation.

Drive integration

The Volvo Penta version communicates directly with the manufacturer's electronically controlled drive, allowing smooth course control without the additional hydraulic hardware typical of classic autopilot systems.
