Garmin GMR 18 xHD - high-definition radome radar

The GMR 18 xHD is a compact marine radar housed in an 18-inch dome (radome), with 4 kW of power and a range of up to 48 nautical miles. The enclosed antenna works well on small and mid-sized powerboats and sailboats where there is no room for an open array antenna. Compared with earlier 18-inch Garmin radars, the xHD model offers higher resolution, and it has inherited some advanced features from more expensive open array radars.

Automation adapted to conditions

Dynamic auto gain and dynamic sea clutter filtering respond to changes in the environment in real time, so the picture stays clear without constant adjustment. Several levels of automation sensitivity are available, and anyone who prefers full control can switch to manual gain adjustment.

Convenient features

• dual range mode - two independent images, near and far, displayed side by side on compatible chartplotters,
• 8-bit color palette display on selected Garmin chartplotters,
• no-transmit zone - turning off transmission in a chosen sector, which gives more freedom in choosing the mounting location.
