Garmin NMEA 2000 backbone/drop cable

The NMEA 2000 cable is used to build and expand a data network connecting marine electronic devices, such as chartplotters, fishfinders, autopilots or sensors. It can serve as a section of the network's backbone or as a drop cable connecting a single device to the main backbone.

The NMEA 2000 standard

NMEA 2000 is a popular communication standard in marine electronics, enabling data exchange between devices from different manufacturers connected to a shared network. The Garmin cable is compatible with this standard and allows simple connection of another device to an existing installation on a boat.

Use

• Expanding an existing NMEA 2000 network with additional devices
• Connecting the backbone with a single device (drop cable)
• 8-pin connector compatible with the NMEA 2000 network standard
