Garmin Panoptix PS21-TM – sonar transducer with FrontVü function

Real-time view ahead of the bow

The Panoptix PS21-TM is a Garmin sonar transducer with a FrontVü function, showing obstacles, shoals and shallows ahead of the boat before they get under the hull. The solution is meant to help the helmsman keep full situational awareness when sailing in unfamiliar waters and avoid a collision or running aground.

LiveVü Forward in real time

The transducer also supports a LiveVü Forward mode, showing in real time what is below and ahead of the boat, at a distance of up to about 30 meters. The function also works when the boat is stationary, so you can see swimmers, divers or passing fish in the water.

Mounting and compatibility

The unit is mounted on the transom (transom mount) and connects to compatible Garmin chartplotters with a 7 or 9 inch screen, including the GPSMAP 7400 and GPSMAP 8000/8400/8500 series. The set includes mounting hardware for attaching the transducer to the boat's transom, which makes installation easy even for people with no previous experience with marine electronics.
