Garmin Tacx Boost - bike trainer with magnetic resistance

The Tacx Boost is an indoor trainer that lets you train on your own bike at home, regardless of the weather. The resistance is generated by a real flywheel, which is meant to give a more realistic riding feel than in simpler designs.

Resistance adjustment

The resistance is set manually with a lever, choosing from 10 levels of intensity. Magnetic resistance in an enclosed housing is used here, so the trainer runs more quietly than open designs.

Construction

The frame is made of metal, and the set includes the Tacx Boost trainer itself and a front stabilizing riser block for the bike. The device is adapted for 24-inch wheels and intended mainly for a road bike. Thanks to the stable construction, the bike does not shift during intense pedaling, which matters for interval training at home. This solution works especially well in winter or in bad weather, when riding outdoors is not comfortable.
