Downhaul Tool – ergonomic sail tensioning tool

The Downhaul Tool makes one of the most demanding tasks when rigging a windsurf sail easier - tensioning the downhaul line that attaches the sail to the mast. Instead of wrapping the line around your hand and risking chafing, the ergonomic handle gives a wider, more comfortable grip and better control over the tension force.

Construction

At the heart of the tool is an aluminum line-locking insert, far more durable than the soft plastic grip points used in cheaper solutions. The insert is secured with a galvanized, corrosion-resistant screw, which lets the tool withstand regular contact with salt and fresh water and many sailing sessions without losing function.

How it works

The integrated line lock lets you pull, lock the line, reset your grip and keep tensioning without constantly wrapping the line around your hand. This is especially helpful in the final stage of tensioning the sail, when precise, fine adjustment of the sail shape and leech tension is needed.

Uses

The tool works for rigging freeride, wave, freerace and cambered sails, regardless of the sailor's skill level. Its compact size lets you carry it in your gear bag and always have it at hand when rigging on the beach.
