Wooden pollen trap for beehive entrance

A beehive accessory that collects flower pollen directly at the entrance, as bees return from their flights. It is a practical addition for beekeepers who want to harvest pollen as an additional apiary product alongside honey.

How it works

The trap's design gently knocks off part of the pollen from the legs of returning bees as they pass through the hive entrance, without blocking the free movement of the insects or discouraging them from entering the nest. The collected pollen falls into a tray, from which it can be easily retrieved.

Installation

The trap is hung directly at the hive entrance, with no need for extra tools or modifications to the hive - just attach it securely and it starts working.

Build

Made of solid wood, the smooth surface of the trap reduces the risk of contaminating the collected pollen, and its low weight means it does not strain the hive entrance structure.
