EMSea - turntable dust cover hinge repair kit

The EMSea repair kit is a replacement part designed for replacing worn or damaged dust cover hinges on turntables. It restores proper operation of the lid that protects the platter and cartridge from dust, without having to replace the whole housing.

Use

The kit is compatible with popular Technics turntable models, including the SL-D2, SL-3200, SL-B2, SL-D3 and SL-Q3, as well as many other designs that use a similar type of cover mounting. It fixes the classic problem of a loose, drooping or detached dust cover.

Installation

The kit includes two metal brackets that hold the hinges, together with a set of screws, washers and nuts. The brackets are mounted on the outer side of the dust cover, which requires neither disassembling the turntable nor specialized tools - a basic set of screwdrivers is enough.

Why it is worth it

Repairing the hinges extends the life of the cover and protects the inside of the turntable - the platter, cartridge and stylus - from settling dust, which directly affects playback quality and the durability of the equipment.
