MDF Tromner – neurological hammer

A Tromner-type neurological hammer from MDF Instruments, with a long, precisely balanced handle ending in a pointed tip. The tool is used to elicit and assess tendon, superficial and cutaneous reflexes, as well as plantar and abdominal reflexes during a neurological examination.

Balance and precision

The long handle of the hammer lets the examiner elicit a reflex with less effort, which means greater comfort for both the doctor and the patient. The pointed tip also allows gentle, pinpoint testing of superficial sensation on the skin.
