The high-quality condenser capsule with a cardioid pattern picks up sound very well from the front, as well as some from the sides, while rejecting sound from the rear. This lets you reduce unwanted ambient noise and focus on recording what really matters. The transducer used in the VideoMicro is even more versatile than in other Rode camera microphones. It delivers a natural sound even when recording indoors, so nothing limits your vision.

The VideoMicro microphone is small, so it works well with both professional and consumer camcorders as well as photo cameras. Not only does it provide clean, detailed sound, but it is also extremely simple and convenient to use. It does not need charging or battery power - just plug it into the device and it will draw power from it (min. 3V).

The Rode VideoMicro microphone can also work with smartphones. All you need is a Rode SC7 cable with TRS - TRRS ends (sold separately), and you can get crystal-clear, directional sound in videos and in video apps used on your smartphone.
