Caucasian stonecrop Deep Rose – pink ground cover perennial

Caucasian stonecrop (Sedum spurium) in the Deep Rose variety is a low, evergreen perennial forming dense mats of fleshy leaves. In summer it covers itself with small, star-shaped flowers in a deep, saturated pink. The plant is supplied as a seedling in a 0.5–1 l pot.

Advantages in the garden

• forms a compact pink carpet on flower beds and slopes,
• tolerates drought and poor, well-drained soil well,
• does not require frequent care,
• suits rock gardens, borders and planters.

Growing

It grows best in a sunny spot, in well-drained soil. Seedlings are placed a dozen or so centimeters apart, and after rooting the plant thickens on its own and fills the empty spaces.
