Constant F2.8 aperture across the whole range

The SEL1655G is a versatile zoom lens with a Sony E mount, intended for mirrorless cameras with an APS-C sensor, such as the Alpha 6000 series. The 16-55 mm range corresponds roughly to a 24-82 mm focal length on full frame, so it covers landscape, reportage, portrait and everyday photos. The constant F2.8 brightness lets you work in low light and obtain clearly blurred backgrounds.

G-series optics

• two AA lenses and two aspherical lenses limiting aberrations
• three ED glass lenses reducing color fringing
• 9-blade, round aperture for soft bokeh

Fast autofocus and durable construction

Focusing is handled by linear XD motors, which work well with subject tracking in newer Sony bodies. The housing is sealed against dust and moisture, and on the barrel you will find a focus mode switch and a programmable focus hold button. The lens is also well suited to video recording.
