The LinkSprinter Pocket Network Tester is an indispensable tool for verifying the functionality of copper Ethernet links and quickly detecting faults in under 10 seconds. With it you will learn the state of network connectivity and detailed port information, and you will also get complete documentation for each link. This versatile AutoTester measures PoE voltage, performs switch tests and confirms that the DHCP server is working properly and responding.
The tester also lets you verify the router gateway, internal IP service and cloud availability. Thanks to the secure Link-Live Cloud Service, test results are uploaded automatically, which helps managers track deployment progress and troubleshooting in their teams.
NetAlly, formerly known as NetScout and earlier part of Fluke Networks, is an independent provider of handheld test solutions, including LinkSprinter, LinkRunner, OneTouch AT Network Assistant, AirCheck G2 and AirMagnet.
Features:
- Discover the name of the nearest switch and port information using CDP, LLDP and EDP protocols, and check link speed, duplex and connectivity to TCP/IP networks.
- Verify the correct Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) voltage from power sourcing equipment (PSE) according to the 802.3af/at standards.
- View detailed test results, add comments and run cable tests from a mobile device thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot in the LinkSprinter.
- Automate reporting and collaborate on uploading and managing test results through the free Link-Live Cloud service.
The LinkSprinter can be paired with a mobile device to get more information about the network test. Connect to the LinkSprinter as a short-range Wi-Fi access point, then open a browser on your mobile device and enter the address 172.16.9.9. The web page lets you view more detailed information, such as port name, model, server address and more. After connecting to Link-Live, you can add comments to test results for further documentation.
Once paired with a mobile device, users can view a detailed description of the cable the tester is connected to, showing each cable pair, the cable length and any wiring faults, such as opens, shorts or split pairs.
The LinkSprinter can test the actual link speed against the speed advertised by the switch. The link test LED will turn yellow to signal a warning, and the detailed test results will show the advertised versus actual link speed. When a Gigabit switch port connects at only 100 Mb/s, users can diagnose the problem further by running a cable test.
The LinkSprinter was designed as a personal tool that lets organizations identify problems more effectively and escalate problem reports from the help desk. Team kits contain 5 or 10 units at a reduced price. More information about the models can be found in the "Models" section.
