Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music for Airports

Ambient 1: Music for Airports is a 1978 album by Brian Eno, from which all ambient music took its name. The British composer and producer created it as sonic background meant to calm and change the atmosphere of spaces such as airport halls, without imposing on the listener.

About the release

The album consists of four long compositions based on repeating, overlapping loops of piano, synthesizers and voices. Their mutual shifts make the music constantly change, though it stays calm. The release was issued by Virgin.

Who it is for

It is a pick for seekers of new sounds and fans of electronic music, ambient and minimalism, as well as for people looking for music for work, reading or relaxation.

Physical release

A physical release with the original cover and printing is a keepsake that streaming cannot replace, and at the same time a guarantee that your favorite recordings stay in your home collection for years. The medium is best stored in its case, away from sunlight and heat sources, and before buying you should make sure your player supports the format.
