Inspekcja (The Inspection) – Polish Television Theatre play on DVD

"Inspekcja" is a Polish Television Theatre play directed by Jacek Raginis-Krolikiewicz, released on DVD by Telewizja Polska. The production takes the viewer to a Soviet prisoner-of-war camp in 1940, where Polish officers are being held. It is a gripping story of the months leading up to the Katyn massacre.

About the play

The central figure is the Soviet officer Vasily Zarubin, who holds conversations with the prisoners and tries to persuade them to cooperate. The play shows the psychological game between the interrogator and the prisoners, and the attitude of the Polish officers, who in a hopeless situation keep their dignity and loyalty to their homeland. The intimate form of Television Theatre conveys the tension of these conversations well.
