CHUDOU Hulusi - traditional ethnic instrument

The hulusi is a traditional Chinese wind instrument made from a natural gourd and bamboo pipes, known for its warm, melodic sound. The CHUDOU model is handmade, in the key of Bb, and is an authentic example of an ethnic instrument from China's Yunnan region.

Construction

The middle pipe has 6 finger holes, which allow different tones to be produced and full melodies to be played. The three-pipe construction - with two drone pipes at the sides - gives the instrument its characteristic, rich sound, typical of the traditional music of the ethnic minorities of southern China.

Workmanship and tuning

Each instrument is tuned individually to ensure a clear and distinct sound for every note. Copper-plated aluminum parts give the instrument an attractive, traditional look, and the set includes a decorative Chinese knot and an elegant case for easier storage and transport.

Who it is for

The hulusi is a good choice both for people interested in ethnic music and Far Eastern traditions, and for teachers running classes on world instruments or collectors of folk instruments.
