CX80 black high-temperature engine sealing silicone 210 ml

What it is for

CX80 silicone sealing compound is an oil-resistant sealant in paste form, intended for durable and flexible sealing of engine parts and other components exposed to high temperatures, vibration and contact with oil. After application it reacts with air moisture, forming a permanent, non-shrinking compound resistant to UV radiation.

Parameters and heat resistance

The sealant withstands long-term operation at temperatures from -65°C to +260°C, and for short periods even up to +380°C, which allows it to be used in places with high heating, such as the crankshaft housing or the camshaft cover. The compound has good adhesion to smooth surfaces – glass, ceramics, aluminum and other metals – and a high elasticity coefficient, so it compensates for vibration and slight movements of the joined parts.

Uses

The silicone is used to seal crankshaft housings, camshaft covers, cylinder heads, oil pans, gearboxes, water pumps and thermostats – it can replace traditional paper or cork gaskets. It is applied from the tube with a caulking gun onto a clean, degreased surface; the working time is 10–20 minutes, and initial curing proceeds at about 3 mm per day. The recommended application temperature is from +5°C to +40°C.
