The duduk is a traditional Armenian wooden wind instrument with a double reed, known for its deep, warm and slightly melancholic sound. This example was made in Armenia from apricot wood, which has been the standard material for the duduk for centuries, and is tuned in the key of A (La).

Craftsmanship and sound

The apricot wood body has a light shade and a polished finish. The instrument requires moistening the reed before playing. Do not tear off the leather part of the reed, because it will become useless. The duduk works well in ethnic, film and meditation music.
