Marabu Textile Screen Printing Kit

The Marabu kit is a convenient way to try screen printing at home. With it you can transfer your own designs onto T-shirts, bags and other fabric items. It is a screen printing kit for beginners and for people who want to make a small run of prints.

The box contains: 100 ml of black water-based printing ink, a screen frame, a squeegee and a knife for cutting stencils. The ink is thick and tacky, has a long open time, and can be thinned with water if needed.

How it works

The design is transferred to stencil paper and cut out with the knife. The stencil is stuck to the flat side of the screen, and the frame is placed on the fabric and the ink is pulled across with the squeegee. After drying, the print is fixed in an oven, usually for about 8 minutes at 150 degrees, or with an iron without steam.

Recommendations

• for light and dark fabrics without finish or softeners,
• maximum 20 percent synthetic fibers,
• once fixed, the print is soft to the touch and resistant to washing at 40 degrees.
