Santiano – Haithabu: Im Auge des Sturms

Santiano is a German band from the north of the country that combines folk music, sea shanties, Celtic sounds and rock. The album Haithabu: Im Auge des Sturms, released by Universal in 2019, takes its title from Haithabu, a former Viking trading settlement on the Baltic Sea.

About the release

The band is known for choral refrains, sea stories and folk instruments such as violin, accordion, flute or bagpipes, which meet a rock rhythm section. The lyrics are sung mainly in German, and the whole has an epic, travel-like character.

Who it is for

The album will appeal to lovers of folk, Celtic music, shanties and maritime moods, as well as fans of bands that combine traditional instruments with rock energy.
