D-Link DAP-1160 Wireless G Open Source wireless access point

Network security is fundamental, which is why it is worth choosing WPA2 technology.
The WPA2 encryption standard is a guarantee of solid protection against cybercriminals. Thanks to it, users can be sure their network is secure. Compared to WPA and WEP, WPA2 offers more advanced encryption methods, which makes it ideal for both private and business networks.

The D-Link DAP-1160 is a wireless access point compliant with the 802.11g standard.
After connecting this Access Point to a broadband router, users can enjoy fast internet access and a secure wireless network. It makes it possible to share files, photos, music, videos, printers and mass storage on the network.

The DAP-1160 device runs on a platform based on the Linux operating system.
Thanks to Realtek RTL8186 chips, it is possible to upload custom firmware using the supplied software development kit (SDK). Developers can use 4 MB of Flash memory and 16 MB of SDRAM to create advanced features, which gives unlimited possibilities for extending the device.

Network and data security is a priority.
The DAP-1160 Access Point offers 64- or 128-bit WEP encryption and WPA/WPA2 mechanisms. It also provides MAC address filtering and SSID hiding, which further protects the network against unauthorized access.
