Samsung 9100 PRO 8TB – M.2 NVMe PCIe 5.0 SSD

The Samsung 9100 PRO is Samsung's fastest consumer drive – PCIe 5.0 x4 with an in-house controller and V-NAND TLC memory. Speeds approaching 15 GB/s shorten the loading of games and projects, and a large cache maintains high performance during long copy operations. The 8 TB capacity is a huge amount of space for games, video footage and working data on a single M.2 drive. The manufacturer's part number is MZ-VAP8T0BW.

Speed

According to the manufacturer, the 8 TB version reaches up to 14,800 MB/s sequential read and up to 13,400 MB/s sequential write. The drive will also work in a PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 slot, in which case the speed is limited by the slot.

For gaming, video and AI

This is a drive for gamers with a platform with an M.2 Gen5 slot, creators working with 4K/8K footage and people running local AI models. The Samsung Magician software lets you update firmware, check the drive's health and migrate the system from an old drive.

Installation and cooling
