Crucial P510 1TB – M.2 NVMe PCIe 5.0 SSD

The Crucial P510 is an affordable Gen5 SSD – it gives PCIe 5.0 speeds without the price of top-end models. It runs cooler and is more energy efficient than older Gen5 drives, so it also fits well in smaller cases. The 1 TB capacity holds the system, programs and a dozen or so games. The manufacturer's part number is CT1000P510SSD8.

Speed

According to the manufacturer, the 1 TB version reaches up to 11,000 MB/s sequential read and up to 9,500 MB/s sequential write. The drive will also work in a PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 slot, in which case the speed is limited by the slot.

A first Gen5 drive at a reasonable price

The P510 is a good choice for a new computer with an M.2 Gen5 slot when you want a fast system and games without paying extra for a flagship. In an older PCIe 4.0 slot it runs at a speed limited by the slot.
