GRAUGEAR – 3.5-inch front panel with USB ports and card reader

The GRAUGEAR front panel is a metal module mounted in a standard 3.5-inch bay of a computer case, which expands USB port availability and gives convenient access to a memory card reader at the front of the case, without having to reach for the sockets on the rear panel of the motherboard.

Ports and throughput

The set of six interfaces includes a USB Type-C port with a rotating cover supporting USB 3.2 Gen2x2 at speeds of up to 20 Gbit/s, an additional USB-C port in the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard (up to 10 Gbit/s), and two USB Type-A ports and another Type-C port at speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s. The panel also supports SD and microSD cards.

Connecting to the motherboard

The module connects to the motherboard with a Key-A 20-pin connector for the fast USB-C ports and a 19-pin header for the other USB ports, ensuring compatibility with most modern motherboards equipped with the appropriate internal headers.

Construction and installation

The panel is made of metal, which provides solidity and an attractive look on the front of the case. Thanks to standard dimensions it fits the typical 3.5-inch bay available in most Mid Tower and Full Tower computer cases.
