Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 – quad-core server processor

The Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 from the Haswell family is a quad-core processing unit designed for servers and workstations. Thanks to Hyper-Threading technology it handles eight threads at once, which translates into good performance in multithreaded tasks typical of server environments.

Technical parameters

The processor runs at a base clock of 3.3 GHz and has 8 MB of L3 cache. It installs in an LGA 1150 socket, and its typical thermal design power (TDP) is in the 80 W class, which makes it easier to choose suitable cooling in a server case.

Compatibility

The processor supports DDR4 memory and the SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 instruction sets. PCI Express configurations include 1x16, 2x8 and 1x8+2x4 modes, which lets you flexibly divide bandwidth between a graphics card, disk controllers or network cards on a server board.

Applications
