Daiwa Black Widow XT Carp – carp rod

The Daiwa Black Widow XT Carp rod belongs to a respected series of carp rods from the Japanese manufacturer, known for consistently combining lightweight construction with high blank strength. The 3.6-meter model with a 2.0 kg test curve was designed for targeting spots at longer distances, which makes it a good choice for both quiet ponds and larger carp lakes.

Construction

The blank is made of high-quality carbon (HMC+), which gives a slim, well-balanced build delivering convincing performance both when casting and when fighting a fish. The rod has two sections, and its transport length is about 188 cm, which makes carrying and storing the gear easier. The handle is made of EVA copolymer, a material valued for comfort and moisture resistance.

Performance

The fast tip combined with a strong backbone allows precise casting of heavier carp rigs, including so-called pop-up rigs, over long distances. The rod's medium-heavy power provides good control when playing a fish, while cushioning its sudden runs. The rod has six guides and a start guide in size #50.

Use

This is an option for anglers looking for proven, well-known equipment for classic bottom fishing for carp at longer distances. It works well both in a two-rod setup and as a single supplementary rod in a carp arsenal.
